Snow Patrol- Final Straw Album

First record store run in months… and we found the Snow Patrol album “Final Straw.” I felt a little hesitant at first… because I don’t know how much I would like other Snow Patrol albums (other than A Hundred Million Suns, which I love).

My first impression was that it was more upbeat, less “soft,” and darker. The lyrics are definitely very different from A Hundred Million Suns, and it also has a significantly different theme and mood. I really like this album though… I guess I do like Snow Patrol, and not just their happy side.

The Photo Album Summer

This summer I got Death Cab for Cutie’s “The Photo Album” and I have had bits and pieces of it stuck in my head for most of the summer.

The songs also relate a lot to what I did this summer.

Steadier Footing:

Besides watching a ton of movies (Drive-In’s, Dollar Theater) and the sadness/epicness that was the end of Harry Potter… this song also reflects a lot of my summer.

Stuck in my head entire time in NY. Every time I saw a reference or shirt saying Coney Island, even though we didn’t visit there.

Listened to this song the most. Addicted to it. Beautifully haunting, and it really makes me think. I’ve spent hours trying to figure out what it means. Love every lyric. I focus mostly on the last verse, which I related to a lot this summer.

I’m gonna make a list of albums I want to find/get/download before I leave for Costa Rica. I prolly will not be able to get new music there and will want enough to last all semester, lol. Also, most of these are albums I’ve been meaning to get for a while now.
